According to the governor's office, the elimination of the zone means any specific restrictions in those locations that had been in place will be lifted and now will fall in line with overall state guidance.

Many of the state's orange and yellow zones were lifted Jan. 27, leaving Newburgh and New Windsor's yellow zone in place.

At that time, restrictions in Port Chester (both yellow and orange), Tarrytown, Yonkers, Peekskill, Ossining and New Rochelle were eliminated by Cuomo.

In a yellow zone, houses of worship could only operate at 50 percent capacity; mass gatherings could include only 25 people or more indoors and outdoors; indoor and outdoor dining allowed only four people per table; and schools remained open, with weekly testing of 20 percent of students and teachers/staff for in-person settings.
