CARLE PLACE, NY — Police have released a photo that they said shows two suspects who robbed a convenience store in Carle Place last week.

Two males entered a 7-Eleven store on Old Country Road around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, took items off the shelves and placed them into a backpack, police said. A store clerk confronted the duo when they tried to leave without paying.

That's when police said one of the suspects pushed the clerk threatened the worker with a sharp object, described as either a silver knife or box cutter. The males fled the store and escaped in a silver Nissan sedan, police said. Two others were also possibly in the vehicle, which left the parking lot and was last seen heading west on Old Country Road.

The clerk was not hurt.

Police described the suspects as both being in their mid- to late-20s and standing 5-feet-10-inches tall. One of them was wearing a white T-shirt, blue shorts and flip-flops. The other was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and was carrying a blue backpack.
