The High School Graduates Celebrated with a 200 Car Caravan Parade and In Person Socially Distanced Graduation Ceremony

The Academy Charter School celebrated its first ever High School graduating class with a 200 car police escorted caravan parade through the streets of Hempstead and an in person socially distanced graduation ceremony at the Calvary Tabernacle Church in Hempstead.
The Academy Charter School is proud that 100% of the members of its senior class will be graduating. Members of the first ever graduating class were accepted to: Harvard, Columbia, Barnard, Princeton Yale, and NYU.
Academy Charter K-11 students and their families lined the streets of Hempstead to cheer and celebrate the graduates. At the conclusion of the caravan parade the graduates dressed in their graduation caps and gowns returned to Calvary Tabernacle Church, where each graduate and two family members were photographed before they entered the church and then each student marched down the church aisle and was presented with their diplomas. Video and still images of this moment will be included in the school’s virtual online graduation which will take place on Sunday June 20th .
