Construction To Disrupt LIRR Service This Weekend
There will be no service to Carle Place and Westbury, so trains are being diverted. Plan your travel changes now.

There will be no trains running between Mineola and Hicksville this weekend, the LIRR said, as track work happens between the two stations. There will also be other service changes as a result.
Between July 20 and 21, the LIRR will eliminate the Urban Avenue grade crossing in Westbury. It is one of eight street-level crossings that the LIRR is eliminating as part of its LIRR Expansion Project. It will be replaced with an elevated bridge and a two-lane underpass.
The work will affect all branches, the LIRR said. The biggest disruptions will be to the Carle Place and Westbury stations, which will not have any service at all during the weekend. Instead, the LIRR recommends that customers that use one of those two stations travel to Mineola and take the train from there.

Heading westbound, trains coming from Port Jeferson, Huntington and Ronkonkoma will stop at Hicksville, the LIRR said. At Hicksville, riders can get on a shuttle to the Babylong station, and then transfer to the express train to Penn Station.
Eastbound service on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches will operate from Penn Station direct to Mineola, where the trains will stop. Babylon branch services will terminate at Hicksville. For service to Hicksville and all areas east of it, customers must board a train to Babylon, then transfer to a shuttle from Babylon to Hicksville, and then get on a train at Hicksville for points east.
