Family and Children’s Association has once again been named one of Long Island’s Top Workplaces by Newsday. This marks the second such annual honor for FCA and the list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization, including: alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization. The Top Workplaces program can be that positive outcome your company can rally around in the coming months to celebrate leadership and the importance of maintaining an employee-focused culture, even during challenging times.”
A laser-like focus on mission of one of the things FCA’s 340 employees like best about the organization. When asked about why she has remained with FCA since 1974, Donna L., a 35-year veteran employee, stated, “The one constant since 1974 is that we always believed in the mission of the agency and every staff member I have ever encountered goes the extra mile and beyond for their clients and we still do. We support each other and are a family. This is what kept me here all these years.”

Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds, FCA President/CEO, commented, “As a nonprofit, we can’t pay as much as large corporations or offer the same perks, yet we’ve managed to attract and retain Long Islanders who truly care about their communities and go to sleep at night knowing they’ve made a difference. During COVID, especially, I’ve seen our staff redouble their efforts to meet the needs of Long Islanders who are struggling through the pandemic; their passion, dedication and commitment has never been clearer. ”
