Free Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 5
Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of East Meadow invites the Long Island community to its Annual Christmas Concert

Holy Trinity Orthodox Church will host its annual Christmas concert on Saturday, December 5 at 7:00 PM. The parish has been producing the Christmas concert since 2008 for the benefit of the local South Shore community. Vespers (evening prayer) will be held at 6:00 PM before the concert; all are welcome to worship with us. An Advent reception will follow the concert. The concert and reception are both free of charge. A Christmas boutique and a free door prize drawing will also be held after the concert.
Dr. Nicholas Reeves, Holy Trinity’s choir director, commented “the choir will celebrate the life and works of Saint Nicholas, as well as sing Orthodox and Western hymns and carols”. The feast day of Saint Nicholas is celebrated on December 6 with hymns sung anticipating the feast on December 5. The concert is based on the English Festival of Lessons and Carols and allows the audience to experience Orthodox liturgical hymns for the feast of the Lord’s Nativity (Christmas) in the context of traditional Western carols. Dr. Reeves added “We are very excited about celebrating the feast day of Saint Nicholas this year on its eve, December 5. Our guest of honor will be his Eminence, Archbishop Michael of New York and New Jersey”.
Directions to Holy Trinity Church can be found in the “Directions” section of the parish website, www.htocem.org. For any additional questions, please e-mail us at info@htocem.org or call the pastor, Father Martin Kraus, at 516-483-3649.
