Long Island Weather: Winter Going Out Like A Lion, Accumulating Snow Likely This Weekend
Snow total estimates are on the rise for the last weekend of winter.

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:
A developing low off the Mid Atlantic coast will likely bring an accumulating snowfall from late day Saturday into Sunday morning. There is a chance that snowfall along the coast could reach or exceed 6 inches, in particular across Long Island which will be situated closer to the offshore low.
The storm could end up dropping more snow on the region than the blizzard that wasn't earlier this week.
A total of 4-6 inches is the "most likely" scenario for most of the island, according to NWS snowfall maps. Parts of eastern Suffolk are likely to see 6-8 inches on the last weekend of winter. The bulk of any snow is expected to fall from late Saturday night through daybreak Sunday.
