Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Nassau County
Strong storms are forecast this afternoon and evening, which could lead to some flooding concerns.

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for all of Nassau County:
A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT WILL BRING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THIS EVENING. SOME OF THIS ACTIVITY COULD PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL...AND COULD RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING.

- Tonight- Showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 10pm and midnight, then showers likely after midnight. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain. Low around 59. South wind 8 to 11 mph becoming east after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Monday- Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 64. East wind 8 to 11 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Monday Night- Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 55. Northeast wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
- Tuesday-Â Rain likely before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Patchy fog before noon. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 67. Northeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
