It's going to be another scorcher on Long Island Wednesday. A heat advisory is in effect until 9 p.m.
The high temperature at MacArthur Airport is expected to hit 94 degrees, which would break the daily record of 91 degrees set in 2016. Throw in the humidity and it will feel like 100 degrees during the afternoon.
If overcome by heat, move to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency. Dial 911 if it is suspected.

If you are heading to the beach to cool off, beware that there is a moderate risk of rip currents at ocean beaches.
On Thursday, it will cool off slightly with highs in the upper 80s, but a chance of showers and thunderstorms returns to the forecast. See the hour-by-hour forecast below.
