Long Island March Against Anti-Semitism Planned Jan. 12
The march comes after a recent rise in anti-Semitic incidents in Long Island and the surrounding areas.
MINEOLA, NY —Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced Friday plans for a Long Island March Against Anti-Semitism. The event will take place Sunday, Jan. 12. The march will start at 3 p.m. at County Seat Drive in Mineola and end at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building at 1550 Franklin Ave.
It will be followed by brief remarks from religious, community and government leaders from around Nassau County.
In December, Nassau and Suffolk Counties formed a bi-county coalition to identify and develop a plan of action to combat and report acts of hate and bias incidents on Long Island. In conjunction with a number of organizations, next week’s march will mark one of the task force’s inaugural initiatives, according to county officials.

“We will be neither silent nor complacent in the face of this horrifying rise in anti-Semitic attacks. Together, Long Islanders of all faiths and backgrounds will march in solidarity with our Jewish community to make clear that an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us,” Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said.
The march comes after a recent rise in anti-Semitic incidents in Long Island and the surrounding areas, including swastika graffiti which showed up outside a Holocaust center and a vulgar attack in Costco.
