Man Damaged Police Car During Arrest: Nassau PD

Police say Eisenhower Onyiuke was resisting arrest and tried to kick out one of the windows in the police car he was put in.

CARLE PLACE, NY — A Far Rockaway man was arrested Monday and damaged a police car while trying to resist, Nassau County police say.

According to police, officers responded to a disturbance at the Holiday In at 369 Old Country Road in Carle Place around 2 a.m. Police say Eisenhower Onyiuke, 25, had gotten into an argument with a staffer after he was unable to pay for his room.

Police say the officers performed a standard background check on Onyiuke and found there were two active bench warrants for his arrest. The officers began to place him under arrest, and police say he began to kick and flail his arms. Once he was arrested and placed into the patrol car, police say he started kicking again and broke one of the rear windows.
