Mineola Boulevard Slated For Repaving

MINEOLA, NY — Heads up drivers: roadwork is planned on busy Mineola Boulevard.

The county's paving contractor expects to begin repaving the roadway beginning Wednesday, the Mineola Volunteer Fire Department announced on Facebook. Early phases of the project will be performed at night. The road bed will be milled to prepare for repaving.

Once milling work is finished, construction workers will return to complete repaving. Mineola Boulevard will remain open to traffic during the roadwork, but drivers should expect to see "rough road" conditions for a few days until paving begins, which will also be done at night.

The contractor plans to complete the work by Friday, Sept. 27.
