Mineola’s Board Of Trustees Approve Plans For New Businesses
One of the businesses specializes in sweet, healthy treats.
MINEOLA, NY—Several new business owners hope to soon set up shop in the village after getting the green light.
The village board voted unanimously on Feb. 19 to approve a special-use permit for SoBol, an açaí blueberry bowl/smoothie franchise founded in 2014. According to The Island Now, the store has plans to open downtown at 150 Mineola Blvd. Mineola residents like Theo Rabinowitz welcome the store's future arrival.
“I didn’t know that SoBol was coming to town but I am a big açaí bowl fan,” Rabinowitz told the newspaper. “I’ve actually been to a few SoBol locations and I think they would do very well here.”

At that same meeting, the board also approved designated space at 105 Jericho Turnpike for a martial arts studio.
The board, however, decided to reserve their decision for a future date regarding a special use permit requested by Alexander Joly, the owner Adriana’s Kitchen. He wants to utilize space at 135 Mineola Blvd. to make Brazilian Coxinha – meat-filled croquettes – which he hopes to serve as a made-to-order pick-up/delivery and catering business only.
