Nassau Businesses, Nonprofits Asked To Take Coronavirus Survey

According to Nassau officials, the online survey will help them assess the financial impact of the coronavirus on the county's economy.

MINEOLA, NY—Nassau County officials are asking businesses and private non-profits affected by the coronavirus to complete a short online survey to assess the financial impact of COVID-19 on the county's economy.

Feedback will also help Nassau County Executive Laura Curran and the Coronavirus Economic Advisory Council in continuing to advocate for economic relief, county officials said.

"It'll be very helpful for us when it's time to go to the federal government for help to show them exactly what the losses are," Curran said during a town hall Wednesday broadcast live via Facebook.

Officials said Hofstra University is supporting Curran and the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency in a data collection strategy to assist in addressing and mitigating the economic impacts of COVID-19.

"To better understand the economic impact of the coronavirus, and to formulate as sound a response as possible, Nassau County needs accurate information," officials with the university said.
