Walter Frame Elected As Trustee Of State Volunteer Firemen's Home

Walter Frame, of Albertson, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Firemen’s Home, a specialized residential healthcare facility for retired volunteer firefighters in Hudson, NY. Walter previously served a partial term on the board and this will be his first five year term.

Walter is a 33-year member of the Albertson Volunteer Fire Department. He is a Vietnam Veteran and served from 1967-1969. Walter joined the department in 1987 and has held many positions, including President, Vice President, and a member of their Board of Trustees. Walter is a past president and vice president of the Nassau County Firemen’s Association, a past president of the North Shore Firemen’s Holy Name Society, and has been the North Shore Fire Council’s Treasurer for the past 17 years.

“As a trustee, I endeavor to do everything I can to support the Home and see that it is run correctly,” said Walter. “The Firemen’s Home is exceedingly important to our members and I look forward to overseeing the health and wellbeing of volunteer firefighters from across the state.”

Walter is happily retired and resides in Albertson with his wife, Kathleen. He has 3 children and is a proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren.

The FASNY Firemen’s Home started 100 years ago as a refuge for firefighters in need with no safe place to live and has become a fully licensed and certified residential healthcare facility. It provides members with rehabilitation and therapy and is well known for nurturing the camaraderie unique to the fire service. Located in Hudson, NY, the Firemen’s Home also serves as the grounds for the Museum of Firefighting as well as the Firefighter’s Memorial. The Home additionally houses a chapel presenting interdenominational services and opportunity for reflection.
