Artists Gear Up for 8th Annual Memorial Day Weekend on the Montauk Green

MONTAUK, NY - Montauk is set to come alive again with an array of artwork on the green.

The Montauk Artists’ Association, a not-for-profit group, will present the 8th Annual Memorial Day Weekend on the Village Green art show from May 27 to May 29, from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free.

The Village Green will become an outdoor gallery of original, handmade art by artisans from across America, organizers said.

"Through their extraordinary vision, talent and skills the artisans weave a tapestry of art from remarkable creations in painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics along with mixed media, woodworking and more," a release said.

Pieces can also be commissioned, with artisans available throughout the show. Those in attendance can speak to the artists personally, learn how they came to their art form, how they are inspired and what materials were used in creating the pieces.
