Death Of Man Found In Montauk Park Believed Criminal: Cops
He sustained head injuries and died after being taken to the hospital, police say.
MONTAUK, NY — The death of a man who was found unconscious in a Montauk park Thursday may be criminal in nature, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the man was found at 7:30 a.m. at Kirk Park, located on Montauk Highway, east of Second House Road.
Suffolk County Police homicide squad detectives are investigating the incident; East Hampton Town Police responded to Kirk Park at 7:30 a.m. after a person visiting the park reported finding the man unconscious, police said.

The man, who has yet to be positively identified, suffered head injuries and was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Officials from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner will determined the man’s cause of death, which detectives believe to be criminal in nature, police said.
