
MONTAUK, NY — An East Hampton man was arrested after he allegedly shoved a woman to the ground, causing a laceration to her lip, choked her — and threw her iPhone to the ground, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Alan R. Marcelino, 24, was arrested on Aug. 13 at 2:30 a.m. in Montauk and charged with second degree harassment, physical contact, a violation, after he shoved the woman to the ground and hurt her lip. In addition, he was charged with third degree criminal mischief, damaging another person's property in an amount greater than $250, a felony, after he threw her iPhone, valued at $860, to the ground "during a physical and verbal argument," causing it to break, police said.
In addition, he was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, applying pressure, a misdemeanor, after he allegedly grabbed the woman's neck with his hand and, while she was on the ground, applied "pressure to her neck, causing her to have difficulty breathing," as well as pain, noticeable redness and superficial scratches to her neck, police said.

Cash bail was set at $250, police said.
