Montauk Man Caught With Heroin: Cops

WAINSCOTT, NY — A Montauk man was found with heroin in Wainscott recently, police said.

Francis J. Barone, 62, was arrested on Feb. 25 at 5:43 p.m. on Wainscott Northwest Rd. and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after he was found with five wax envelopes in his wallet containing a brown powder substance that later field tested positive for heroin, police said.

He was released on his own recognizance, police said.
