May 19 to 22: The annual Montauk Music Festival is a four-day, family-friendly showcase from more than 100 musicians who play more than 200 shows at 35 different venues in Montauk, including two days on an open air stage at the Village Green.

May 27 to 29: Montauk's Art on the Green, a juried show organized by Montauk Artist’s Association.

May 29: Blessing of the Boards, an "only in Montauk" event where boarders who surf, skate and boogie bring their equipment to be blessed at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.

June 9: Montauk’s Farmers Market opens with 30 vendors purveying the first picks of seasonal produce. After, the market will be open every Thursday until mid-fall on the Village Green.

June 12: The weekend's Blessing of the Fleet is a long tradition in Montauk, a commercial fishing town since the late 19th century; the event serves as a reminder of the dangers in fishing for a living.

Other activities, free and fun, include walking Montauk’s remote, unspoiled wildlife areas around Oyster Ponds, the Big Reed Trail and Culloden Point; watching commercial vessels come in with their catches in early afternoon at the Harbor area; dining out on the local spring specialties of scallops, asparagus, wild mushrooms and rhubarb desserts, the Chamber said.
