MONTAUK, NY — Montauk's popular Navy Beach is giving back to the community in honor of its 10th anniversary.

Navy Beach, located at 16 Navy Rd. in Montauk, recently announced the launch of a new scholarship program for graduating East Hampton High School students. Beginning this spring, Navy Beach will award two graduating seniors with a $1,000 scholarship toward their college education, a release said.

“Our tenth year snuck up on us and while reflecting on our close ties to the local community we brainstormed on how to properly thank the community for it faithful support," said Navy Beach partner Frank Davis, who also has twins currently attending college.

"An ongoing compliment from the local families has been both their ongoing patronage but also permitting their children to work with us at Navy Beach over the years," Davis added. "We fully realize that our local resources help make Navy Beach Montauk’s favorite beachfront restaurant. Navy Beach partners who are also parents with kids entering college and or being educated locally, we recognize the challenge that college places on families," he added.

Establishing Navy Beach’s scholarship program for the children of East Hampton "is a small way for us to say thank you to our community and to also permit us soften the economic challenges of a college education," Davis said.
