Reality TV is Coming to Montauk
Bravo is planning to film a new unscripted show in Montauk, much to dismay of neighbors — and the town has not issued a permit.

MONTAUK, NY - Watch out, Hamptonites. It seems that reality TV is coming to the eastern tip of the East End.
Just like Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian came to North Haven and to Southampton’s Jobs Lane two summers ago for their own E! reality series, Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons, Bravo seems to be setting its sights on Montauk for a reality look at summer happenings here.
And as reported in Richard Johnson’s New York Post column once some Montauk locals got wind of it, there appears to be a bit of an uproar.

The Bravo show tentatively titled “Summer House,” was vague about its exact locale when the show was first announced. But now a job listing on SimplyHired.com, an employment website, may have spilled the beans about the Montauk setting: “Bravo —Set Production Assistant —Montauk, NY.”
Locals have taken to Facebook to voice their concerns about this. But as fans of reality TV know: What’s a reality show without a bit of an uproar?

The Montauk Chamber of Commerce had no comment on the issue.
And on the town level, perhaps the greatest resistance, with reports that a permit has been denied: "No permit has been issued by the town," East Hampton Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell said.
The town attorney's office is expected to issue a statement shortly.
Word has it that the show will start filming this weekend.
Here's how Bravo has described the show:
For years this group of friends has spent their weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day in one of the most exclusive beach areas on the East Coast. These professionals may keep it together during the week, but as soon as they hit the beach on the weekend, they let loose in a big, aspirational way that is exclusive to this high-end lifestyle.
