Surfboard Stolen From Montauk Shop: Police

MONTAUK, NY — A surfboard was stolen from a Montauk shop earlier in September, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and East Hampton Town Police Department detectives said they are asking for the public’s help in identifying and finding the man they said stole the Darkhorse surfboard from Plaza Sports, located at 716 Montauk Highway, on September 6 at 9 a.m.

The man fled the scene in a dark-colored Range Rover with no license plates, police said.

The board, which is approximately 8 feet long and 4 inches thick, is valued at $299, police said.
