Woman's Body Found On Montauk Beach: Police

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating to determine the cause of death, police say.

MONTAUK, NY — An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death of a woman found on the beach in Montauk Saturday, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, a 911 call came in at 12:49 p.m. about an unresponsive middle-aged woman found on the beach between Edward V. Ecker Sr. County Park and Navy Road Town Beach.

Responding officers found the woman dead upon arrival, police said. Her body was removed by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death, police said. The woman's identification was withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.

Foul play is not suspected, police said.
