1. The Pride Parade

Nobody parties better than the LGBTQ community in New York City!

The entire city is out of control in a mix of confetti, music, love, togetherness, and bliss. This is as much a love parade as a fest of inclusiveness and individuality. Everybody is welcome!

2. The Village Halloween Parade

New York City has taught me to love parades!

I spent five hours photographing this parade, but the party isn't over long after that. Every street is packed with happy people hugging and laughing and loving.
Life should be like this every day!
3. Coney Island Mermaid Parade

Oh yes, the sun was burning this year, but who cares when you are in the middle of a lot of colorful mermaids celebrating summer, sun, beach and the ocean!

4. The People's Ball

Celebrated for the first time in 2018, the People's Ball at the Brooklyn Public Library was a smashing hit!

Locals were welcomed to present their fashion on a runway, and almost everybody did. This was one of the best parties I attended this year. The library was rocking the moment the event started! The Brooklyn Library was on fire!
5. The 4th of July Jersey City Fireworks

The Jersey City Fireworks are a great alternative to the East River fireworks in Manhattan.

It's very family friendly, lots of food trucks and entertainment on the main stage. If you are not so much into big scary crowds, this is for you.
6. NPR Music Turning Tables

The NPR festival at Lincoln Square is a real gem. Each year NPR invites up and coming female and non-binary artists to the stage to talk about their music and of course, perform their latest hits.

This event is great to discover new music and get in on it before they become famous.
7. The Victory Cup

The classy polo game on Governors Island brings the Hamptons to Manhattan!

Only a short boat ride from Pier 11, the polo match is a Sunday out with family and friends. And everything here is top grade instagramable. Sip some champagne, watch the ponies and feel like a chic socialite from East Hampton!
8. Hot 97's On Da Reggae & Soca Tip

The Hot 97 music concert is the event for Reggaeton lovers and a real experience if you have never danced to the sound of the Caribbean.

Beware, you will want to pack your bags and move to Jamaica right away after this. Nobody parties more boisterous than these islanders.
9. Dyker Heights Brooklyn Lights

Dyker Heights is the neighborhood in Brooklyn with the most outrageous Christmas house decorations ever.

Plan at least 3 hours because you will lose yourself walking from house to house while the light spiel gets crazier and crazier.
10. The Highline Hat Party

Bring a crazy hat! This event is a lively dance and cocktail party with a contest for the most raucous hat.

Powered by many supporters of the LGBTQ community this joyful bash draws in a colorful crowd of drag queens, club kids, and a party-ready crowd!
