NEW YORK CITY — New York City's long feather boas and towering politicians are more than just legendary, they break world records.
Those feats of height and fashion are just a few of the Guinness World Records New York broke in 2019.

World's Longest Feather Boa Has Its Own NYC Boulevard
The world's longest boa is 1.2 miles long.
The boa — courtesy of Madame Tussauds' and Ripley's Believe It Or Not — was stretched out along West 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues, named "Boa Boulevard in honor of the event.

Tall Councilman Breaks Glass Ceiling
City Councilman Robert Cornegy broke the record for world's tallest politician with his 6-foot 10-inch stature in March.
Perhaps one day Mayor Bill de Blasio will be honored for the number of tall people puns he tried to cram into the celebratory press conference.
306 City Ballet Dancers Get To The (En) Pointe
The largest number of ballet dancers to stand on their tip, tip, tip toes gathered in New York City in September to perform the feat on "Live with Kelly and Ryan."
Host Kelly Ripa was among the 306 who broke the record on West 67th Street, and later quipped, "This job really keeps me on my toes."
Bedazzle That Dreidel
They did not make it out of clay. New York's Estate Diamond Jewelers crafted a $70,000 dreidel out of 18 karat gold, and a 4.20 carat diamond.
Teeming With Pride
Let's end where we started, with Pride.
The New York City Pride Run in Central Park shattered the world record for the number of people to complete a Pride charity event, with more than 10,000 runners crossing the finish line.
