NEW YORK CITY — An Amtrak cement truck derailed on the Albany track, causing suspended service and mass delays at Penn Station, officials said.

No one was hurt when the truck derailed on the Empire Track just north of Penn Station about 11:15 p.m. Thursday night, an Amtrak official said

Multiple trains were cancelled and rerouted as Amtrak workers rushed to make repairs on the tracks, officials said.

Service on Empire trains 230, 232 and 233 began and ended service at Yonkers and Empire train 234 was canceled after the vehicle derailed.

Stranded passengers were directed to Grand Central Terminal, where Metro-North would provide service to Yonkers.
