Ariana Grande accepts award for Billboard's 2018 Woman of the Year in a star-studded awards ceremony with Patti LaBelle, Cindi Lauper & more
The 13th Annual Billboard Woman In Music Awards took place last night at Pier 36 in New York City. Billboard, most notably known for its analytical music charts, awarded Ariana Grande with the top honors of 'Woman of the Year.' This impressive accolade puts Grande in a group of elite performers, with past honorees including from Madonna, Pink, Beyonce and Lady Gaga.
While Ariana Grande is no stranger to the top of the charts, she only earned her first No. 1 single last month with breakup anthem "Thank U, Next." Grande most recently made headlines when calling off her engagement to SNL's Pete Davidson after only months of the pair's very public whirlwind romance. The pop star has faced some extremely tough times in recent years, from the Manchester bombing at her world tour in 2017 to ex-boyfriend Mac Miller's death this past September. Grande released her latest album "Sweetner" back in August, which debuted as the No. 1 album in the U.S.
Janelle Monae, Alicia Keys, Cindi Lauper and Ellie Goulding were also attendance at the 2018 Billboard Women in Music awards, with Patti LaBelle presenting Grande with the top honor. From red carpet arrivals to backstage moments, we rounded up photos of all the highlights from the ceremony.
