NEW YORK CITY ? A Brooklyn woman who stands accused of killing her father and stabbing her sister did so after an argument over a laptop, prosecutors said.

Nikki Secondino, 22, will remain jailed without bail after her arraignment Monday on several felonies, including murder, authorities said.

Prosecutors indicted Secondino after a harrowing Dec. 29 attack in which her father was pummeled with a hammer and stabbed with a kitchen knife. Secondino originally claimed two intruders carried out the deadly deed, but an investigation quickly poked holes in her story, prosecutors said.

?This defendant is charged with brutally killing her own father and then stabbing her younger sister, allegedly following an argument over a laptop," said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez in a statement.

After the laptop argument with Secondino, her father Carlo Secondino, 61, slept on a couch in their Bensonhurst home, authorities said.

It's there that prosecutors said Nikki Secondino attacked her father with a hammer and a knife about 5:20 a.m., killing him.

Secondino's younger sister, 19, woke up to commotion in the living room and tried to stop the attack, authorities said. But Secondino also stabbed her sister several times in her body, hands and face, prosecutors said.

As police arrived, Secondino ran outside and told them two men broke into her home, killed her sister and father and sexually assaulted her, authorities said. Secondino's own family questioned that story, and raised concerns to police, prosecutors said.

Carlo Secondino had expressed fear of his daughter before the incident, prosecutors said. And it appears the family was no stranger to turmoil: Nikki Secondino and her father had a history of domestic incident reports, authorities said.

Secondino faces charges of second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She is next due in court April 5.
