Bronx Drug Dealer Doused Cops With Fentanyl, Prosecutors Say

NEW YORK CITY — An accused heroin dealer threw a deadly drug in the face of cops trying to bust his Bronx operation, officials said.

Christian Rojas, 44, allegedly flung loose fentanyl at a Strike Force officer who burst into the living room of 304 Willis Ave. on Nov. 7, according to federal prosecutors.

Rojas is one of seven people arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court Thursday on criminal drug possession charges, according to the New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor's office.

Four officers inhaled the drug — a highly addictive synthetic opioid — and two were hospitalized after one fainted and another found difficulty breathing, prosecutors said.

The cops found six other alleged dealers, heroin, fentanyl and nearly 20,000 glassine envelopes in the apartment that sits across the street from P.S. 49 on Willis Avenue and East 140th Street, said prosecutors.

Prosecutors named those arrested on drug charges as Nassar Lacewell, 36, Francisco Payano, 35 Mario Guerrero, 40, Jose Gonzalez, 49, Freddy Rojas, 47 and Margaret Payano, 46.

Rojas also faces charges related to the alleged assault on police officers, said prosecutors.
