Brooklyn Man Walking Dog Fatally Hit By Teen Mercedes Driver

Frank ​Decolvenaere, 66, was fatally struck while walking his dog in Bay Ridge Thursday night, officials said.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — A man walking his dog was fatally struck by a teen Mercedes-Benz driver in Bay Ridge Thursday night, officials said.

Frank Decolvenaere, 66, was crossing Fourth Avenue at 101 Street against the light about 7:05 p.m. when the 19-year-old's 2011 sedan slammed into him, police said.

Decolvenaere suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene, police said. The teen did not immediately face charges.

Council member Justin Brannan tweeted that Decolvenaere had been walking his dog when he was in the crosswalk.

"I am sad, horrified and outraged," Brannan wrote. "People really need to slow the f--- down!!!!!"
