Chef Scott Conant's Guide To New York City

Where are the best eats in the city? We caught up with Fusco's head chef and Food Network's "Chopped" judge Scott Conant to get his take.

NEW YORK, NY — Celebrity chef, restaurateur and three-time cookbook author Scott Conant knows a thing or two about the New York City food scene. The mastermind behind Manhattan restaurants L'Impero, Alto and Scarpetta, Conant most recently opened Fusco, an elegant Italian eatery in Gramercy that seamlessly blends comforting house-made pastas (think: fresh gnocchi and duck agnolotti) with elevated menu options like hamachi crudo and black cod “brodetto.”

Living in Manhattan for 27 years has also made Conant something of an expert on New York City itself, which is why we picked his brain to find out the best things to do and see around NYC. From must-visit landmarks and museums to the ultimate date-night spot and best coffee shop, here are some of Conant's favorite destinations in the city.

Oh, and if you're wondering what the best table at Fusco is, the chef spilled on that too. You might just find him posted up there when he's not cooking in front of a camera.
