Video: Cuomo Rescues Man Trapped In Crashed Van On BQE
Gov. Andrew Cuomo rescued a man trapped in a crashed van on the BQE Monday afternoon.

NEW YORK CITY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo rescued a man trapped inside a catering van that crashed on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Monday, his office confirmed.
Video shows the Democratic governor pulling the stunned man out of a white van that slammed into a BQE divider about 1:15 p.m., according to a spokesperson and the FDNY.
The Governor, fearing the van would tip before police arrived, cut the man out of his seatbelt and helped him to safety, a governor's office spokesperson said.

The van belonged to Regina Caterers in Brooklyn, who said they were "extremely thankful to all the first responders."
"Our primary concern is in the well-being of our driver and any other motorists involved in the crash and hope that no one sustained any serious injuries," a company spokesperson told Patch via email.
A second video shows the Democratic governor patting the back of a distraught woman at the crash site.
A driver caught behind the crash can be heard sounding the horn to speed up the process.
