Elite Manhattan Schools Close For Coronavirus-Linked Cleaning
The Collegiate and Spence schools closed Friday after a family with ties to both institutions went under quarantine, reports show.

NEW YORK CITY — Elite Manhattan high schools closed Friday for thorough cleanings linked to coronavirus, according to notices and reports.
The all-boys Collegiate School on the Upper West Side and the all-girls Spence School on the Upper East Side closed Friday for "a comprehensive sanitization of the entire campus," school websites show.
A family being monitored for COVID-19 after a parent traveled internationally has ties to both schools, a source told the New York Post.

“I understand and appreciate the anxiety associated with the dynamic situation regarding COVID-19,” Collegiate School headmaster Lee Levison wrote in the email obtained by The Post.
"So in this instance we are acting in a very conservative manner.”
