Always interested in playing music and performing, Elton John started playing piano professionally in 1962 in a pub at the age of 15. Many of his albums have been in collaboration with Bernie Taupin, with Taupin penning the lyrics and Elton adding the music. Both artists were inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 1992.

Considered a singing sensation, Elton has sold over 300 million records around the world and has had over fifty hits on the Top 40. His single “Candle In The Wind 1997," in tribute to Princess Diana, is still the best selling single on both the U.S. and U.K. singles charts.
