EXCLUSIVE: Chad Johnson knocked out by Brian Maxwell

Chad ‘OchoCinco’ Johnson held his own in his first career boxing match against an amateur fighter for the first three rounds of their fight.

But 48 seconds into the fourth and final round, Johnson found himself face down on the canvas.

Johnson quickly bounced back up, and finished his exhibition fight against Brian Maxwell on Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium.

No winner was announced, and no judges were keeping score on the exhibition.

But Maxwell’s overhand right on Johnson’s face clearly decided the fight, which kicked off the festivities before boxing legend Floyd Mayweather faced social media influencer Logan Paul later Sunday night.

For Johnson, an 11-year NFL veteran and brief Miami Dolphins receiver, the fight gave him an opportunity to scratch participating in a boxing match off his bucket list.

And he playfully called out an opponent for a potential next match in MMA great Conor McGregor after his post-fight interview.

“My life is about taking crazy chances and doing crazy stuff,” Johnson said, encouraging fans to not be “scared to take chances” and “get out there and live.”

“Don’t be scared to fail, it’s okay.”

son showed good vision for Maxwell’s punches ducking and side-stepping out of the way on several punches thrown, while landing a few of his own.

Outside of Maxwell’s wicked right, Johnson actually led the fight with 17 punches thrown compared to 14.

Johnson was also not shy to stand toe to toe against Maxwell in the middle of the ring and against the ropes.

Maxwell, an amateur fighter who went 0-3 in his stint in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, was grateful for the opportunity to face at athlete he looked up to like Johnson in the ring.

“Thank you, Chad. it was an honor to fight my idol,” Maxwell said. “I appreciated it.”
