The 2018 Golden Heart Awards, hosted by charity group God's Love We Deliver, took place last night at Spring Studios in New York. The cocktail party and seated dinner presentation saw the likes of stars Hugh Jackman, Priyanka Chopra, Bette Midler, Naomi Watts, Ashley Graham, Michael Kors, Anna Wintour, and many other A-list celebs all showing their support.

As New York metropolitan area’s leading provider for sustaining meals and nutrients, God's Love counsels people living with severe illnesses. God's Love first started out as an HIV/AIDS service organization, but today the service provides help to a wide range of people spanning across 200 different individual diagnostics.

2:44 p.m.
I'm at the gym in the middle of a workout when I get an email invitation to a big A-list celebrity event tonight. I better start running. You don't say no to Hugh Jackman, right?

3:02 p.m.
As a celebrity photographer who works the night beat, my schedule is very last minute. I never know where I will end up at the end of the day. At a movie premiere party at the Roxy Hotel with Michael Douglas? At the Plaza hotel with Jennifer Lopez or the Pierre with Amber Heard or the Russian Tea Room with Diane Lane? Or is it going to be a rap concert in the Bronx with Cardi B?
Tonight it's Spring Studios with a very long list of A-list celebrities.

5:15 p.m.
I'm on time at Spring Studios. There is already a line of photographers. One of them is writing 'the list.' It's the order in which the photographers arrive. We will walk into the venue and pick our spots in this order, if not otherwise defined by the PR. That's photographer codex.

6:51 p.m.
First up on the carpet is Lynda Carter, the original wonder woman. She is always up for some fun pictures.

6:56 p.m.
Bette Midler is here! What a great surprise! This is the very first time I take photos of her. She looks gorgeous, don't you think?
She poses for us only a few seconds, 26 seconds precisely, but that's enough time for all the photographers to get their shots!

6:57 p.m.
Later this evening, when I look at the photos with one of my roommates, we start wondering why she is holding a 'datebook.' I wasn't able to figure it out yet. Let me know if you have an idea!

7:04 p.m.
These two are from Europe! Singer Princess Mafalda Saxe Cobourg of Bulgaria and British actress Ella Hunt.

Hi Ladies!

7:25 p.m.
Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in a chic black pantsuit.

7:34 p.m.
I turn towards the door and see Anna Wintour walking in. Snap, snap before she puts the sunglasses on!

7:35 p.m.
Right behind her is Michal Kors. They are both wearing sunglasses. I get it. The camera flashes hurt the eyes. I still wish they would give us a quick snap sans glasses.

7:39 p.m .
I turn back to the door. The security guys look amped up. That's a sign. Something is happening! An A-lister is about to arrive.
And then I see Hugh Jackman walking in.

7:40 p.m.
He is with his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.

7:41 p.m.
Hugh Jackman gives an interview.

7:46 p.m.
There is Naomi Watts. I've seen her a few times in the last couple of weeks. I love the new hairdo!

Ashley Graham is in a good mood!

7:58 p.m.
The last guest arriving for the event is Priyanka Chopra. She poses for us off the carpet.

7:59 p.m.
Breaking News! Her purse falls to the floor! All the photographers go "Oh!!"

8:01 p.m.
Not a big deal! One more photo on the carpet.

8:02 p.m.
I shoot this photo of her with available light while she is giving an interview.

10:23 p.m.
At home, I sit in the kitchen and edit my photos when one of my roommates comes in. I show her the pictures.
"Oh, that's him again!" she says and points to a photo of an actor (not mentioned in this article) who she recognizes from other events I shot in the last couple of weeks.
"Yes, he is going out a lot, looking for dates ..." I say. "He is newly single and back on the market. If you are a celeb, you can't really go on Tinder or walk up to someone in a coffee shop ... That's why some of them go out to high-end parties and charity events every night."
"Have you seen him picking someone up yet?" she asks.
"No, but I see him scanning the room all the time," I say. "and the socialites and models are on it already."
