Grimaldi's Pizzera Closed For A Day After Health Inspection
The famed pizza joint reopened Thursday after its second closure this year.

DUMBO, BROOKLYN — The city Health Department forced DUMBO's famed Grimaldi's Pizzeria to close for the second time in about seven months this week. The house of pies at 1 Front St. was shut down Tuesday after inspectors found improper refrigeration, flies and other problems, city records show.
Grimaldi's manager Gina Veluso said the nationally recognized pizza joint reopened Thursday morning after fixing the refrigeration issue, which was the main problem.
The shop Zagat has called a "tourist magnet" was also closed after a Jan. 10 inspection found evidence of mice.

The pizzeria was plenty busy when it opened its doors again Thursday despite losing a day of business to the brief closure, Veluso said.
"Tourists don’t skip a beat," she said Friday. "We had a line yesterday morning."
