Gustnado Lands On Harlem River, Forecasters Say
New York City, under a tornado warning Tuesday afternoon, got a gustnado instead, forecasters say.

NEW YORK CITY — A gustnado churned over the Harlem River Tuesday Afternoon as forecasters issued a tornado warning for New York City, according to the National Weather Service.
The thunderstorm whirlwind was seen moving between The Bronx and Inwood in Manhattan, south of the Broadway Bridge, before hitting the shoreline north of Fordham Road about 2:30 p.m., forecasters said.
Forecaster estimate the gustnado traveled at about 75 mph a a severe thunderstorm hit New York City.

The National Weather Service is asking anyone with photos or video of the storm to email OKX.Spotters@NOAA.gov to aid their further evaluation.
