Daniela's Lens gives a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most innovative products showcased at the Indie Beauty Expo in NYC!

The Indie Beauty Expo (IBE) presents new and innovative products from independent brands and provides a platform to showcase and celebrate beauty entrepreneurs from all over. The event has been around since 2015 and is open to the public as well as press and buyers.
Take a look below as Daniela's Lens goes behind the scenes of this totally unique shopping experience!
2:35 p.m.
I love beauty products and I can't wait to explore new inventions! Let's do this.
2:41 p.m.
Two editors from Good Morning America are checking in right next to me. This event is indie but definitely not unpopular.

2:46 p.m.
"I don't have to brush my teeth anymore if I eat these?" I ask and point to the mints.
"Technically no! But we would prefer if you still do!"

2:52 p.m.
"What's your most popular product?"
"The body oil! People love the feel of it!" says Nicholas from Cannabliss Organic.

2:58 p.m.
"We are the three founders of SkinTe!"
"Are you familiar with Collagen?" they ask me.
"No..."
"It's found in your skin and bones, and it contributes to radiant skin, hair and nails."
"I need this!" I say.

3:01 p.m.
Great style!

3:08 p.m.
"You have to try our nail polish remover!" says Iqbal Qadwani, the founder of Karma Naturals. "It's totally non-toxic and soy-based, and it works super fast!"
He is the most enthusiastic exhibitor here, and of course, I try his product.
"I own a nail spa in New Jersey, and I invented this myself! You see how fast it works and it's actually good for your nails!" he says while removing some of my nail polish. I'm very impressed. It looks, feels and smells non-toxic and works like a charm. I'm sold!

3:09 p.m.
"All our lipsticks are natural, toxin-free and edible," says Cindy Luken from Lük.
And they smell really tasty!
"Where is your accent from?" I ask the two.
"Australia!"
"You came all the way from Australia for the Indie Beauty Expo?"
"Yes! We love it here! And we love New York City! So exciting!"
"Great meeting you, I hope you have a lot of fun."

3:16 p.m.
"Our nail polish is water-based and non-toxic. Perfect for kids!" says Melanie Hurley from Piggy Paint.

3:21 p.m.
"My gloves protect you from the UV in nail dryers! You can really damage your skin, it's like when you get too much sun!" says Kim Motola from ManiGlovz.
"Wow, I never thought of that. Good invention and great design!"

3:23 p.m.
"Our best seller is TAINTED LOVE NO. 62" says Brielle from Tokyo-milk, "It's a unique perfume!"

3:31 p.m.
"Our matte foundation Shade 2.15 looks really gorgeous on you!" she says while applying the makeup on me.
"Thank you so much! Are you from New York?" I say.
"No, I live in San Francisco."
"You need to go out tonight!" I say to her. "There is a great rooftop club at the Dream Downtown Hotel called PH-D Lounge." I show her some photos.
"Wow! I will definitely go!"

3:48 p.m.
"You can use our products to cover up roots or grey hair. But we also have fun colors to temporarily alter your hair color," says Ryan Sullivan from Truhair.
And guess what I did next? I painted the pink and blue shades all over my hair. You know when something is so addictive that you just can't stop? This is it!

4:02 p.m.
"Our acne patches are completely invisible!" she says"I'm wearing one right now, can you see it?"
"Really? No, I can't!"
"Come closer! It's right here!" she points to one side of her face.
And I still can't see it. I need this!

4:16 p.m.
"We create cannabis beauty food. Do you know about CBD? It's Cannabidiol and is said to have great effects on health and beauty. Try one!"
It tastes good, that's for sure!

4:31 p.m.
On my way out I meet this security guy.
"You couldn't stop painting that blue powder on your hair?" I ask him.
"So addictive!" he says.
"I know!!!!" I say pointing to my pink and blue hair.
