Jessica Hart And Alysia Reiner Attend The NYFW Tome Runway Show

Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin, the designers of Tome, showed their latest collection this past Tuesday at New York Fashion Week. The design was hit, or as Emily Mercer from WWD puts it: "the models posed for selfies post-show instead of changing into their street clothes." The show attracted actress Alysia Reiner from "Orange Is The New Black" as well as supermodel Jessica Hart.

1:02 p.m.
I arrive at the Tome show. It's 1 pm, but it feels like 8 am. Fashion week gives you a never-ending jet lag.

1:05 p.m.
One of the photographers walks up to me. I've never seen him before.
"Hi!! It's my first time shooting front row!" he says. He works for one of the big agencies. "They want to test if I can do it!" he says. He looks a little nervous.

1:08 p.m.
The Quann twins arrive.
"Who are they?" asks me the rookie.
"TK Wonder and Cipriana Quann," I say.

1:10 p.m.
The hair color!

---

1:11 p.m.
"Did you get Alysia Reiner?" I say to the young photographer.
"No! Which one is it?"
"Red dress."

1:13 p.m.

1:18 p.m.
Iskra Lawrence plays with her skirt.
"Who is that?" asks the rookie.
"Iskra Lawrence!" I say and remember what a veteran photographer once said to me: "I wish I could get a dollar whenever someone asks me a name."

1:22 p.m.
Jessica Hart is here!
"Can you take off your sunglasses?" I ask.
"It's too early," she says.
"Let me put on my sunglasses, too," says Alysia.

1:34 p.m.
The show is about to start, and I get into position to shoot the VIPs watching the show. This is part of the job of a front row photographer. We do not shoot the fashion but the reactions of the celebs during the show.
I see the rookie on the wrong side of the room and try to wave him over, but he does not see me.
After the show, I talk to him.
"I know," he says and makes a face.
