Liev Schreiber Premieres 'Ray Donovan' Season 6 With Q&A For Fans

Daniela's Lens invites you to join stars Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight as they premiere the newest season of "Ray Donovan" at the TTF 2018.

Showtime's hit series "Ray Donovan" premiered its season 6 at the Tribeca TV Festival last night. Fans of the show were in for a special treat as starring actors Jon Voight and Liev Schreiber joined the crowd for a special Q&A after a screening of the new season's first episode.

Most of the upcoming season takes place in New York City where Donovan, played by Liev Schreiber, rebuilds his life. With Susan Sarandon back on board as a series regular, you definitely won't want to miss how this addicting drama unfolds.

In the meantime, check out some highlights from the premiere as Daniela's Lens takes you front and center on the red carpet!

5:00 p.m.
I arrive at Spring Studios, and there are already a lot of fans outside.
"What are you here for?" I ask a group.
"Ray Donovan!"

5:19 p.m.
Liev Schreiber is here!
"What would you say is the biggest difference between you and Ray?" the moderator will ask Liev during the Q&A.
"Everything! Everything is the difference! We are the same height, and that's about it!" he says.

5:22 p.m.
Liev moves on to the camera crews to give interviews. I watch him for a while. Then I see one of the female photographers next to me staring at him with total excitement.
"What's going on?" I whisper to her.
"It's Liev Schreiber!" she says and beams ecstatically.
"Wow! You like him!" I say. The veteran photographer who shoots photos of A-listers on a daily basis is totally fanboying.
I look down the row to see what one of the other female photographers is doing, and yes, she is staring at Liev, too. Ha!

5:38 p.m.
Out of nowhere, Jon Voight is on the carpet. He literally ran into the event so fast I wasn't even prepared to switch my camera on yet. Everybody is surprised, and it's a big hello.
Jon carries an umbrella. He uses the umbrella to do a little dance for us. It's like singing in the rain!
"People think he is the real Ray Donovan," he says jokingly and points with the umbrella to Liev.

5:40 p.m.
Liev comes back on the carpet, and the two of them pose for us.

5:42 p.m.
"We need some action!" the photographers say.
Snap, snap, snap.
"This photo will run somewhere." says one of the photographers to me. That's jargon for getting a photo printed in a major magazine.
Agreed!

5:44 p.m.
I'm done taking photos and head upstairs to listen to the Q&A.

6:01 p.m.
The moderator asks: "Why do you think the show has taken off the way it has?
What are people responding to?"
Liev says: "The characters! I think it's the characters!"
Jon says: "The other day on set, there were about eight women and they were there to see if they can catch a glimpse of Liev... and each one of them had said to their husbands: if there was anybody else they could be with it would be Liev..."

6:06 p.m.
Liev goes on to describe why his character is so interesting: "Ray absorbes suffering and he protects, and he represents a certain fantasy about masculinity. That is in some ways is extremely attractive."
Liev explains that Ray Donovan was developed by a female writer: "When Ann created him she created her brother, her father her lover. And he became a wildly charismatic figure."
