Livin' On A Prayer: Museum Of The Moving Image Benefit

Photographer Daniela Kirsch shares her exclusive coverage straight from the red carpet at the St. Regis Hotel.

Daniela Kirsch is co-founder of NameFace — a facial recognition application that can identify celebrities in photographs. Through her technical and creative expertise, Kirsch has changed the entertainment industry, and she knows more than just a thing or two about photographing A-list events.

Last night, she attended the Museum of the Moving Image's annual gala at the St. Regis Hotel, and took Patch along for the ride. Take a look at what she captured!

6:29 p.m.
I'm at the St. Regis Hotel to cover the Museum of the Moving Image Benefit. The PR hands me the face sheet. Jon Bon Jovi is on the list!
Even better, there is only one more photographer here. It's one of the guys from last night.

It's only a small group of photographers who cover entertainment in NYC, and we bump into one another on a nightly basis. We reside at Cipriani, Madison Square Garden, The Plaza, Lincoln Center and the Boom Boom Room. Celebrities come and go. We stay.

6:36 p.m.
"Where is everybody? Usually, there are ten photographers crammed in here," he asks me.
"I think they are all at the Fragrance Foundation Award. I couldn't get in," I say.

6:42 p.m.
"I've never seen Peter Fonda this happy before," he says about the event last night. "The dog was licking his face, and he loved it!"

7:19 p.m.
"This is so much fun! I really enjoy this!" Savannah Guthrie is all smiles and giggles. She might be the only veteran celebrity who still loves taking photos.

7:21 p.m.
Savannah Guthrie and Jake Tapper pose together, and we snap away.
"Let's do a hug for jokes!" she says.
"Don't do that!!!" the PR jumps in and blocks the shot. No hugging post #metoo.

7:32 p.m.
"I heard Jon is here!" the PR tells us, "We just need to get him on the carpet."
"Livin' on a prayer..." he says.
Was that Jon's biggest hit?

7:38 p.m.
Jon Bon Jovi arrives and poses with Dexter Goei.
"Can we take a quick solo of you?"
"No," he says and disappears in the restroom.
"He took so many photos in his life; he is sick of it. You can crop him out." says the other photographer.
And that's what I do.
