NEW YORK CITY — With hours until blast off for what's being called the "biggest ever" New York City fireworks show, the crowds are flocking to East River viewing points.

NYC really only has one show - and it's the biggest in the nation with millions watching live on TV.

What: Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks
Where: East River
When: The Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular runs from 8pm to 10pm on July 4. It will be broadcast live on NBC.

More than 65,000 shells and effects will shoot off from five barges lining the East River in Midtown. There will be two miles of public viewing space open - details of which can be found here – but the show will be viewable from rooftops and other access points across the city.

Last year's event was drastically altered, with shows happening at unannounced locations and without spectators. So 2021's promises to be a particularly massive celebration.
