Map: NYC Neighborhoods With The Most Parking Tickets
The Upper East Side, Astoria, Flushing, Tribeca, SoHo, Flatbush and Ditmas Park are the city's parking-ticket capitals, city data shows.
NEW YORK, NY — In a handy new list and accompanying interactive map that double as a where-not-to-park guides for NYC, the data crunchers over at RentHop have ranked the city's neighborhoods based on how many parking tickets were handed out in each last year.
The numbers were pulled from online city records and divided up by NYPD precinct. Only parking tickets slapped onto cars with passenger plates were factored in, so as to rule out commercial and government vehicles, RentHop said.
As in years prior, the Upper East Side — aka, the 19th police precinct — won for 2016's most-ticketed NYC neighborhood with 238,338 tickets, the data showed.

- Brooklyn was the second most-ticketed borough. Car-owning households in Brooklyn received an average of 4.3 tickets in 2016.
- Queens households, a whopping 62 percent of whom own vehicles, received an average of 2.8 tickets last year.
- "Staten Island is the place to live if you have a car and don’t want to live in New Jersey," according to RentHop. "Over 83% over households in Staten Island have a car and they average just .64 tickets per year."
