Matthew McConaughey Attends Film Screening Of 'White Boy Rick'

Daniela's Lens made a detour during the NYFW festivities to attend a screening of Matthew McConaughey's new film 'White Boy Rick' in NY!

Last night actors, producers and guests gathered for a special screening of the new movie 'White Boy Rick'. Matthew McConaughey, his wife, Adrien Brody and more made an appearance on the red carpet.
The movie is based on the true story of Richard Wershe Jr. A teenager who ran a drug gang, was an FBI informant and got ultimately sentenced to life in prison.

6:30 p.m.
I just finished New York Fashion Week an hour ago. Now I'm back to movie premieres. Everything entertainment!

6:32 p.m.
The tent with the red carpet is set up outside of the movie theatre on the street. It's raining, and it's humid. The water is running behind us along the sidewalk through the tent. One foot in the gutter, one foot in the VIP room, literally.

6:41 p.m.
"When Matthew McConaughey arrives, make sure you get your picture in the beginning. He is probably going to rush." says one of the photographers.
"Will do!"

6:45 p.m.
"There are so many events tonight!" says one of the photographers. "I had a hard time choosing where to go. But Matthew is huge. He is on the cover of every magazine!"
"I'm very excited to see him!" I say.

7:38 p.m.
Matthew McConaughey is here! But he is not ready yet. He had to walk through the rain, and his face is all wet. One of the assistants hands him some paper towels. That's better.

I start shooting the moment he is ready.

7:43 p.m.
That's the money shot!
Matthew is all relaxed and not rushing at all.

7:45 p.m.
"Look at me, please!"

Bel Powley, Matthew McConaughey, Richie Merritt, Jonathan Majors

7:51 p.m.
And a group photo of the actors.

"Where in London are you from?" asks one of the photographers.
"West London!" says Bel Powley with a British accent.

8:05 p.m.
It's Ice-T and family!

8:08 p.m.
"This is the first time I'm on the carpet with my sister!" says Coco Austin.

Constance Jablonski
8:09 p.m.

8:11 p.m.
"I had to take the subway to get here. There is so much traffic in Manhattan," says Ashley Haas.

8:15 p.m.
While we are waiting, Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves pass by us again. I'm in the middle of talking to another photographer about the Playboy Club Opening, and I'm showing him something on my phone.
"Can I see?" says Camila.
I show her the screen.
"That's tonight?" she says.
"We are trying to figure it out," I say. "Do you know anything about it?"
"No, I'm so sorry."
Alright, if even the celebs don't know, I'll give up on it.

8:16 p.m.
Adrien Brody is a little late, and we almost started packing up. He is in a good mood and goofing around. When he poses for us, he leans from one side to the other.
"Can you straighten out, please?" says one of the photographers.
"I don't want to!" he jokingly says.
We all crack up laughing.

8:17 p.m.
Ok, no problem. I'll rotate the photo.
