New Initiative Encourages Diners to Support Flatiron Restaurants

Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership offers takeout customers at Flatiron and Nomad restaurants a chance to win "dinner for a year"

The Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership's new "Takeout Flatiron" program encourages New Yorkers to support Flatiron and NoMad restaurants by ordering takeout meals via pick-up or delivery for a chance to win monthly dinners for a year from neighborhood restaurants.

Takeout customers are eligible from any of the Flatiron District’s 195 food and beverage establishments, including such acclaimed restaurants as Cote Korean Steakhouse, Scarpetta, maman NoMad, Tacombi El Presidente Flatiron, Milu, Upland, Hill Country Barbecue Market, Honeybrains, and many more.

To enter, participants can email screenshots or pictures of their takeout and delivery receipts to takeout@flatirondistrict.nyc. The campaign will conclude on March 31.

The winners will be selected randomly and will receive 12 gift cards to select Flatiron and NoMad restaurants for a monthly meal on the Flatiron Partnership – a total value of $595 for each winner. The first two winners will be drawn on March 1, from among all February entries. Two more winners will be drawn on April 2, from among all entries. There will be no repeat winners, but guests are welcome to enter every time they order from a food and beverage establishment in the district.

“Our restaurants, which sustain and energize New York City neighborhoods, have faced unimaginable challenges over the past year,” said James Mettham, Executive Director of the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership. “We’re hopeful that dining can return to normal later in 2021, but our restaurants need help to survive this winter. We encourage New Yorkers to support these vital businesses by participating in Takeout Flatiron. Every order can make a difference.”

The Flatiron Partnership has continued to help struggling restaurants and bars throughout the COVID pandemic. The organization has worked closely with the New York City Department of Transportation and local stakeholders to facilitate outdoor dining in the district through the City’s Open Streets and Open Restaurants programs. Last August and September, the Partnership’s All in Flatiron Dining Deals campaign featured online and in-person discounts from Flatiron and NoMad restaurants and marketing support. Last May, the Partnership matched funds raised by the community to purchase meals from neighborhood restaurants for delivery to local first responders, every day of the month, through its Feed Flatiron’s First Responders campaign.
