“I don’t think it will be a slugfest. I think they will be tight games that will swing on pitching mistakes,’’ a scout told New York Post. “It will come down to which staff makes the least amount of mistakes. Both teams have good mistake hitters.’’

Fans have high expectations for the matchup, as the last time the two teams squared off the Yankees won 14-12 in one of the best games of the year.

The Yankees haven't announced a Game 1 starting pitcher, but the team expects to heavily lean on its bullpen. “It’s all hands on deck, and we’re still working through what that means and how we’re going to deploy it,” General Manager Brian Cashman told the New York Times. “We’re just trying to put ourselves in the position to keep our options open and allow this roster to be as flexible and adjustable as possible.”

Masahiro Tanaka is the favorite to get the opening game nod.

Friday's opening series game is going to be a nail biter. The first pitch will be thrown at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx at 7:07 p.m. Seats are still available for both the opening game, and Game 2 in New York.

Tickets start at $110, and you can save 10 percent at checkout with the code "PatchTickets10."
