Daniela's Lens hits the town with Nick Jonas and John Varvatos as they celebrate the launch of their new fragrance JVxNJ!
After teaming up for a successful fashion capsule last Spring, John Varvatos and Nick Jonas announced that they would be expanding their partnership with a new fragrance, JVxNJ. Last night the fashion designer and pop superstar hit up NYC's Mission nightclub to launch this exciting new venture and celebrate in style.
Daniela's Lens takes Patch along for the ride and invites you to check out all of the best moments from the star-studded bash!
7:25 p.m.
All the photographers are lined up outside of the venue.
"The spots on the red carpet are not marked!" says the PR. "Please make a list and pick a spot in that order!"
Translation: There will be a fight.
7:45 p.m.
"Come on in guys! Five at a time!" says the PR.
I'm with the first group and pick my spot right in the middle of the carpet. Perfect. Now we wait.
9:16 p.m.
There is Nick Jonas.
"We've been waiting for you!" someone says.
And then the fighting starts. Everyone screams and shoots and screams and shoots. Flash flash flash! We scream at Nick and each other. The guy behind me pushes and squeezes me. "Move your flash away!" he screams at me. "Calm down!" I scream back at him. "Look at me!" all the others scream at Nick.
9:18 p.m.
And Nick is all professional and takes the time it needs for everyone to get a good photo.
Here is mine!
9:21 p.m.
PR hands him the fragrance bottle.
9:22 p.m.
John Varvatos gets on the carpet. Group shot!
9:25 p.m.
And one more of John.
9:29 p.m.
"She is in Daredevil!" says the PR.
"Daredevil, Daredevil, Daredevil" sings one of the photographers.
9:32 p.m.
It's only one other guy and me now. Even the house photographer is nowhere to be seen. This carpet went from two dozen photographers to two in no time.

The party is picking up. The music is loud, and it looks fun.
"Can I go inside?" I ask PR.
"Yes! But you can't take any photos!"
"Ok," I say, and PR escorts me to the bag check. She makes sure that all my equipment is put away. "Have fun!" she says to me.
10:01 p.m.
I play by the rules. No more photos.
We are at a nightclub. It's dark, loud and filled with New Yorks elite of up and coming models, actors, designers, musicians and all kinds of creative spirits. Kevin Mazur is in the VIP area taking photos of Nick Jonas and friends. He is the only one allowed to work his camera in here.
10:08 p.m.
Nick and John come on stage.
"We are so excited about the new fragrance!" says Nick. "And it's John's birthday today!" He sings happy birthday to John Varvatos and everyone chimes in.
I dance for a couple of songs; then it's time to go. On my way out I see one of the photographers sneaking around in the dark with a long lens. Good for you, I think.
10:48 p.m.
While I'm standing outside figuring out how to get home, I see the photographer from before getting kicked out by PR.
"Good Night," he says to me.
"Good Night. See you soon." I say.
Just a normal day at work.
