NYC Coronavirus Case Count Holds Steady Overnight, Mayor Says

NEW YORK CITY — For the first time in several days, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Friday morning the number of novel coronavirus cases confirmed in New York City had not risen overnight.

The number of confirmed cases in New York City remains at 95, the mayor said on Fox 5's "Good Day New York."

"We take that very seriously," de Blasio said. "But our healthcare system is the finest in the nation."

The count was the same as when the mayor announced a state of emergency in New York City Thursday afternoon.

Johns Hopkins University's coronavirus case tracker reported Friday morning 1,701 confirmed in the U.S. with one death in New Jersey, 31 deaths in Washington state, one in South Dakota, one in Georgia, four in California and two in Florida.

There are 328 New York state cases, according to the tracker.
